DESCRIPTION:The FLAME Centre for Case Development is pleased to announce a Case Writing
  Workshop during January 16-17, 2020 at FLAME University, Lavale, Pune with
  the focus of enabling the participant to write and present an Indian case.
 \nIntroductionThe case method of teaching has gained popularity in several 
 management and professional disciplines and has become an integral part of 
 the pedagogy. Many colleges draw upon cases written by international author
 s on international or Indian scenarios. It is time we develop cases by Indi
 an authors on Indian scenarios. \nThe FLAME Centre for Case Development (FC
 CD) intends to promote case writing by Indian authors across various discip
 lines by providing necessary encouragement and support to the teaching frat
 ernity. A case writing workshop is being organized in January 2020 which wi
 ll be followed by a case teaching workshop and a case conference with publi
 cation support. \nAbout FLAME FLAME University has been established as a st
 ate private university vide the FLAME University Act 2014 (Maharashtra Act 
 No. II of 2015) of the Government of Maharashtra. FLAME University is recog
 nized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f), and deg
 rees awarded by the University are recognized under Section 22 of the UGC A
 ct, 1956. \nFLAME University is the pioneer of Liberal Education in India. 
 The objective is to go beyond the known and familiar structured and narrowl
 y encapsulated forms of knowledge. The aim is to provide students a learnin
 g experience that would excite and enthuse them. The focus is on experienci
 ng, learning, self-reflection and self-discovery by freeing students from t
 he traditional ways of looking at things. Spread on 60 acres of green expan
 se, FLAME prepares students who have a strong desire to learn and grow cont
 inually, welcome new ideas, value diversity with desire to succeed and give
  their best towards excellence in all spheres of life.\nProgramme Objective
 sThe primary objective is to promote case writing skills among the teaching
  fraternity with a hands-on experience of developing a case and to: \nAddre
 ss some case writing myths \nHelp to recognize case situations\nProvide ins
 ights on structuring a case\nFormulate interesting learning possibilities \
 nCreate a case rhetoric\nCapture the content and text of a case\nProvide in
 sights on structuring the teaching note \nIntegrate the case and the teachi
 ng note\nMethodologyThe programme will be conducted in workshop mode wherei
 n the emphasis is on participation, discussion, reflection, creation and ap
 plication. The sessions will require the participants to identify a case an
 d work on it using secondary sources of information. They will then be enco
 uraged to continue with the work after the programme and complete it using 
 primary/secondary data. The work can be used as a teaching case in their co
 urse and for presentation at the FLAME Case Conference proposed in mid-2020

 of Management, Ahmedabad and a graduate of the Institute of Rural Managemen
 t, Anand. He has authored and published several cases including those on Pa
 yTM, BloombergQuint, V-Xpress, BigBasket, Patanjali Ayurved, redBus, Samsun
 g Electronics, Villgro Innovation, SpiceJet and SEWA. The cases have been p
 ublished with IIM Ahmedabad, Ivey Publishing and The Case Centre among othe
 rs. His teaching experience includes stints with the Indian Institute of Ma
 nagement (Ahmedabad, Amritsar and Rohtak), Entrepreneurship Development Ins
 titute, Institute of Rural Management, Aalto University (Finland) and the I
 nstitute of Management Technology (Dubai and Ghaziabad) in the domains of m
 arketing communications, digital marketing and e-commerce, rural marketing,
  promotion planning and retail consumer behaviour. He is on the Boards of R
 esearch Institute for Compassionate Economics (RICE) and Kaushalya Foundati
 on. \nProf. Amarpreet Singh is a graduate of the Tata Institute of Social S
 ciences Bombay and has done post-doctoral work with the Indian Institute of
  Management Calcutta. He has authored and published several cases including
  those on V-Xpress, Shraddanjali.com, redBus, The Akal Academies, Drivers42
 0.com and ArthaKranti. The cases have been published with IIM Ahmedabad, Iv
 ey Publishing and Emerald among others. His teaching experience includes st
 ints with Entrepreneurship Development Institute, NMIMS, the Bombay Stock E
 xchange and FLAME University in the domains of strategic management, corpor
 ate entrepreneurship and family managed business. He is on the Board of Eme
 rald’s Emerging Markets Case Studies Journal and a Reviewer with The Case C
 entre.\nProf. Bharat Damani is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Techno
 logy Kanpur and doctorate from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. H
 is research work on nurturing social enterprises and entrepreneurship used 
 the case study approach. He has been associated with manufacturing start-up
 s for more than 30 years. His teaching experience includes stints with IIT 
 Bombay, Tata Institute of Social Sciences Bombay, Sydenham Institute of Man
 agement and FLAME University in the domains of finance, strategic managemen
 t, business plan development and social entrepreneurship. \nDurationThe wor
