SUMMARY:"Why India’s Health Data Needs a Booster Jab" a talk by Dr. Amir Ullah Khan.
DESCRIPTION:Abstract\nToday, India’s health indicators come from a variety of surveys.
However, many of the existing datasets are not shared even between ministri
es and are not open-sourced for use by analysts. The big problem arises eve
n after the data is collected, as some of the key indicators often remain m
issing from these datasets. Erroneous data is another serious concern. Whil
e money and resources have been allocated towards better data collection, t
he problem is in terms of design, transparency, and confidence in releasing
the information collected. The paucity of information has several implicat
ions.\nDr. Amir Ullah Khan’s Short Profile:\nDr. Khan is a Development Econ
omist and Adjunct Professor at the MCRHRDI of the Government of Telangana.
He is the Research Director of the Center for Development Policy and Practi
