SUMMARY:Shaping The Future - Trends And Perspectives In Indian Biodiversity Conservation And Sustainable Development
LOCATION:VKS 003
DESCRIPTION:In today’s globalized world, with the increasing effects of climate change,
changing political structures and advances in technology, pertinent questi
ons emerge about the future of Indian biodiversity conservation and its int
eraction with human dimensions in both urban and rural contexts. These inte
ractions often result in issues including (but not limited to) natural reso
urce management, human-wildlife conflicts, land grabbing, indigenous proper
ty rights, food insecurity, and inadequate implementation of development in
frastructure and schemes. Biodiversity conservation, community development
and Sustainable Development Goals are all concurrent themes, with their str
ong focus on improving the well-being of humans, ending poverty and protect
ing the planet. Despite significant research and advancement over the previ
ous years, there remains a pressing need to advance the state of knowledge
of man-nature dynamics within this context. The disciplinary, interdiscipli
nary, and multidisciplinary conversations within social sciences can contri
bute significantly through raising and answering critical questions and mak
ing space for lasting solutions and policy recommendations, thus ensuring a
sustainable future for all.\nThe national seminar on Biodiversity Conserva
tion and Sustainable Development will provide a shared platform to scholars
, practitioners, and experts in India to exchange knowledge, interact with
peers, critically reflect and collaborate. Additionally, it will help promo
te awareness of recent approaches and developments, cutting edge research a
nd learning of best ground practices and professional networking.\nRead Mor
